In the rest of the world, commercial oil inventories increased by 34 million

barrels to reach 2790 million barrels, whereas the Inventories at sea decreased by

11 million barrels to reach 1172 million barrels.

As a result, Total Commercial oil inventories in April 2018 increased by 32 million

barrels to reach 5600 million barrels – a level that is 177 million barrels lower than

a year ago.

Strategic inventories in OECD-34, South Africa and China decreased by 3 million

barrels comparing with the previous month to reach 1852 million barrels – a level

that is 27 million barrels lower than a year ago

Total world inventories, at the end of April 2018 were at 8623 million barrels,

representing an increase of 17 million barrels comparing with the previous

month, and a decrease of 224 million barrels comparing with the same month

a year ago.
